However, we prioritize placing our kittens in homes that are the best match for their personalities and needs above gender or color.

For example, if you have a household with three bulldogs, and your favorite kitty in our current litter is shy - or if you want a very active cat, but the kitten is very cuddly and not as active, we will discuss that with you first!

Our kittens are raised in our home and are exposed to a variety of sights, sounds, and experiences from an early age.

We handle and interact with our kittens on a daily basis to help them become comfortable around people and other animals. Our kittens are well-socialized with a colony of cats, from whom they learn.

Our kittens are also introduced to different toys and environments to help them develop their physical and cognitive abilities.

We provide our kittens with plenty of love and attention from the moment they are born. All of them sleep in our bed with us!

We follow the Code of Practice for Canadian Cattery Operations by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.

We work closely with our Vet to ensure that all of our breeding kings and queens receive regular check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care.

We also take steps to prevent the spread of disease, such as quarantining new cats and kittens and ensuring that our cattery is clean and hygienic.

We also have an entire Ethics Policy Page.

We are located in BC, Canada. We have a place on Vancouver Island, and in Burnaby in the Greater Vancouver Area of British Columbia.

Sorry, for the health and safety of our family, cats, and especially - the kittens, we do not provide public access. Young kittens are still developing their immune systems and it is easy for them to pick up germs. However, we are more than happy to schedule a time in advance for a virtual visit with FaceTime, Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams. Once a kitten is reserved, we provide photo and video updates so that you can see your kitten grow up! We try to do photo sessions weekly.

That being said, we will update this page in the future (soon) with products that have worked (best) for us. We send each kitten home with a care package that contains many of these items!

Are Maine Coon cats good with children and other pets?

Yes, Maine Coon cats are known for their friendly and sociable personalities, which makes them great companions for children and other pets. They generally get along well with other cats, dogs, and even small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs. However, it is best practice to supervise interactions between pets and children to ensure everyone stays safe and happy.

What are the grooming requirements for Maine Coon cats?

Maine Coon cats have long, thick fur that requires regular grooming to prevent matting and tangling. They should be brushed at least once a week, and possibly more frequently during shedding season. They also benefit from occasional baths and nail trimming.

What is the temperament of Maine Coon cats?

Maine Coon cats are known for their friendly, gentle, and sociable personalities. They are often described as "dog-like" due to their loyalty, playfulness, and affectionate nature. They are also known for being intelligent and curious cats, making them great companions for families.

How big do Maine Coon cats get?

Maine Coon cats are one of the largest cat breeds, with males typically weighing between 18-28 pounds and females weighing between 12–20 pounds. Some Maine Coons can even reach up to 30 pounds or more!

Are Maine Coon cats good for apartment living?

While Maine Coon cats are a large breed, they can adapt well to apartment living as long as they have plenty of space to move around and engage in regular exercise. They are generally not as high-energy as some other breeds and are content to spend time lounging and relaxing. However, it's important to provide them with plenty of toys and a cat tree to keep them mentally stimulated and active.

Are Maine Coon cats vocal?

Maine Coon cats are generally a quiet breed, but they are known for their chirping and trilling vocalizations. They may also meow or purr to communicate with their owners, especially when they want attention or affection. However, they are not typically as vocal as some other breeds, such as Siamese cats.

Do Maine Coon cats like water?

Maine Coon cats are known for their love of water and many enjoy playing in water or drinking from a running faucet. Some Maine Coon owners even report that their cats enjoy swimming! However, not all Maine Coon cats are fond of water, so it's important to let them decide for themselves whether or not they want to play in it.

Do Maine Coon cats require a specific diet?

Maine Coon cats do not have any specific dietary requirements, but it is important to feed them a high-quality, balanced diet that meets their nutritional needs. It is also important to monitor their weight and adjust their food intake as necessary.

What is the lifespan of Maine Coon cats?

Maine Coon cats have a relatively long lifespan compared to other cat breeds, with an average lifespan of 12–15 years. With proper care and a healthy lifestyle, some Maine Coon cats have been known to live into their late teens or early twenties.

Are Maine Coon cats hypoallergenic?

Maine Coon cats are not hypoallergenic, but they do produce less allergens than other cat breeds. This is due to their unique fur texture and the fact that they groom themselves less frequently than other cats. However, if you have severe cat allergies, you may still experience symptoms around Maine Coon cats. However, some people with allergies may find that they are less sensitive to Maine Coon cats compared to other breeds due to their lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein, which is a common allergen in cats. It's important to spend time with a Maine Coon cat before adopting one to see if you have any allergic reactions.
